What to expect from your trial lesson

The session gives you an opportunity to meet the teacher, experience the lesson and understand the best route forward.

Meet the teacher

Experience the teacher's approach and see whether the lesson feels comfortable, encouraging and suitable.

The teacher will consider previous experience, musical interests, current ability and future aims.

After the session, we can confirm an appropriate regular lesson length and check suitable weekly availability.

Trial lesson questions

How much is a trial music lesson?

A trial lesson costs £18 for 20 minutes. The same trial fee applies to piano, violin, guitar, drums and singing.

Can I refund or rearrange my trial lesson?

No. Once a trial lesson has been booked and confirmed, it cannot be refunded or rearranged. Please check your availability carefully before completing your booking.

What happens during the trial lesson?

You or your child meet the teacher selected during booking. The teacher considers the student's level, discusses goals, answers questions and advises on the appropriate lesson length and next steps.

Who can book a trial music lesson?

Children aged 5 and above and adults of all levels are welcome, from complete beginners to advanced students. We welcome families from Windsor, Slough, Eton, Datchet and across Berkshire.

Which instruments can I book?

Trial lessons are available for piano, violin, guitar, drums and singing.

Do I need to bring an instrument?

Piano and drum students do not need to bring an instrument. Students booking violin or guitar should bring their own instrument where possible. Please contact us before booking if you need advice.

What happens after the trial lesson?

After the session, you may request a regular weekly lesson place. We will confirm suitable availability and send the relevant half-term invoice. A regular place is confirmed once the agreed payment has been received.
