Pedro Lopez is a spanish flute player based in London. Member of Southbank Sinfonia, he has collaborated with major orchestras in London, including the Royal Opera House, Academy St Martin in the Fields and BBC Concert Orchestra.
He recently graduated from the Royal College of Music, where he studied the Artist Diploma under the tutelage of the principal flute players of the LSO and LPO. He also holds a Master in Music Performance from Trinity Laban.
Supported by the Tillett Trust and the Leverhulme Trust, Pedro has been awarded in several international competitions including the Harold Clarke Woodwind Competition, Ibercaja Competition and more recently in ‘El Primer Palau’ at the Music Palace in Barcelona.
Recent highlights are a Performance of Frank Martin Ballade at Het Concertgebouw, chamber music recitals at the Royal Opera House and Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, a recording for the spanish radio RNE and a recital at St-Martin-in-the-fields.
Pedro is a passionate teacher and educational projects include the London Philharmonic ‘Fun Harmonics’, Royal Opera House ‘Chance to Dance’ and Jette Parker Young Artists, ‘in Harmoni’ Lambeth wind coaching and Family concerts in Waterloo and Cadogan Hall.
