Giulio Potenza, pianist, was born in Palermo in 1990 (Italy). He started his piano lessons at the age of six with Roberto Giordano and in 2000 He entered the Conservatory of Trapani where he received his piano Diploma with the highest ranking under the tutelage of Walter Roccaro . He studied at the Imola Piano Academy with Franco Scala and at the International Piano Academy of Sesto Fiorentino with Gabriele Baldocci. Giulio successfully completed a Post graduate diplom with Dinstiction at the Trinity laban conservatory of Music supported by the Alfred kitchen scholarship and now is attending a Post graduate Artist Diplom Course under the tutelage of Gabriele Baldocci supported by the Trinity college music trust.
He also holds a Bachelor in History from the University of Palermo
In the past years He has attended master classes and lessons held by pianists such as Irene Inzerillo, Riccardo Risaliti, Denis Pascal, Christos Sakellaridis, Deniz Gelenbe, Douglas Finch, Bruno Canino, Margaret Fingherat, Martino Tirimo, Barry Snyder, Martin Kasik, Christin Croshaw, David Kennedy, Augine Asti, Pascal Rogè.
He won prizes at several important piano competitions like:1st prize 3° Internetional piano competition “Premio Seiler” of Palermo (2002), 1st prize 7° National piano competition “A.Gi.Mus” of Palermo (2009),1st prize International piano competition “City of Canicattì” of Canicatti (2006),1st prize 4° International piano competition “Mozart Prize” of Mazzara del Vallo (2009), 1st prize 17 Internetional piano competition “Placido Mandanici” of Barecellona Pozzo di Gotto (2010),1st prize 18° Internetional piano competition “G. Campochiaro” of Pedara (2009), 2st prize 127° Stratford & East London Music Festival Competition (2013), 2nd prize 17° National piano competition “G. Rospigliosi” of Lamporecchio (2010), 2nd prize 17° Internetional piano competition “City of Casamassima” of Casamassima (2010), 2nd prize 21° Internetional piano competiton “Riviera della Versilia” of Viareggio (2012), 3st prize 3° Internetional piano competition “A.Gi.Mus” of Rome (2009) “Highly Commended Award” at the Jacques Samuel Piano Competition of London (2012).
Giulio’s performances have take him to many European countries and venues as a laureate and participant of many competitions and festivals both for solo and chamber musicians. The most important appearances included: Steinway Hall, Regent hall, Rai Auditorium of Palermo, Sommerville music society, Eglesfiel music society, Hammamett piano festival and many others.
As a dedicated and active teacher Giulio was invited to give piano master classes in Tunis, during the Hammamett piano festival 2013 and in Bangkok
