Alberto Ferro has earned his Piano Conservatory Degree in Milano, Italy and a Master in Piano Performance in both Jazz and Classical Music at Washington State University. Since he was a kid he has been deeply curious and passionately involved in all kinds of musical expression: in the years, through the study of Musicology and Composition he has developed a specialization in improvisation across the genres that culminated in his Master’s Thesis “Composed Improvisations for Piano Solo a Closer Look into Different Contemporary Improvisational Approaches” (2015).
His performances often include improvisation numbers, along with jazz interpretations and virtuoso classical repertoire. His CD of original piano music “In Fondo Al Suono” represents a stylistic concept that connects the historical performance approach to a jazz approach, blending composition and improvisation. He also dedicates his time into writing on musical subjects and education: among his deepest passions are Bach and Keith Jarrett.
Experienced concert pianist, he has performed in Europe, U.S., Australia and on many luxury cruise ships, as solo and in ensemble, big band and orchestra pianist, band leader and musical director, in both classical, modern and jazz contexts.
